> Notice that our Echangeserver is not working, strange that I did not get any alarm?
> Start working on it, the services are slow as fuck. They dont start
> Nvm reboot
>10 minutes later the same problem, start to dig deeper.
>Everything goes slow because I am not a Windows guys
>The big boss calls, clock is 7 AM (our office opens as 8AM)
> She is angry that I am not at the office, because the mail does not work.
> I am working remotely from home, 30 min drive to work
> Told her that I have a 30 min drive and I was supposed to be home to take care of wife that was sick
> She is annoyed, pissed.
> She demands that I need to be at the office to solve the problem

omg,,, I don't work better if I am in the office.
Also, it turns out that a colleague has turned of the alarms from Nagios/OP5 for the exchange environment because is once spammed his phone.

It's 7am and the boss calls. I'd immediately ask why she isn't sleeping or having morning sex. On the weekend if your reading work email it's because you miss being at work.....

@skprog in the first line he wrote that he was on call. That means you MUST read all work emails/answer all work phone calls etc.

    Yep, 24/7 this week.
I did not like the attitude of the big boss,
I work better at home in thoose cases, because otherwhise people come knocking on the door and complaining about stuff I already know and working on

    Just tell her:

"Look, I'm already working on it. If I drive there to work from there it will be at least 40 minutes lost in the commute that I could be solving this problem.

    What is your suggestion?"

    @azous
I did, but she did not listen.

I sent an email to my boss ( IT boss ) and explained. He is on my side and he knows that the big bosses does not know a shit

@Linux thank god for the IT boss,
Corporate people seem to ignore the fact that today IT people don't need to be on site 99% of the time.

Why turn off notifications for a super important work notification that could cause you to (potentially) lose your job if it’s not fixed?
