My family hosts an 100 mile (160km) run once every year for ultra-runners. 11 hours in the first runner has done 105 km. And I'm sitting at this checkpoint logging their times and working on a project. But rain started pouring down and this not so waterproof tent has just become the worst developing workplace I have ever been in because the umbrella ain't big enough for me and the laptop. So I'm soaked and won't be relieved for another 8 hours. The things you do for family.

This is a very very cool run. Are you using RFID chips in their bins. Any way to pick up times at the checkpoints remotely with a reader and Raspberry Pi?
Any race walkers in the field? I am working toward participating in a 20k race walk here in the US. Doing well in 5k's now with walkers and runners.

@Jumpshot44 been working on the RFID but wasn't 100% finished and testes so probably next year. Did wrote a script halfway through to calculate when the next runner was about to come in. Based on distance, speed and percentual decline in speed. Worked better then I expected. Almost all runners with in half hour of the time I calculated.
