If you are leaving devrant (or any other site) make sure it includes as much drama as possible:

    Content not up to par?

It's not about your personal preferences. It's about what the platform was meant for.

A bunch of devs ranting about things other devs can relate to, in this case development related things or funny stories about their job etc. Things that any devRant user can relate to.

But how it's morphing nowadays is rants about politics, gender inequality, global warming. It's not the right setting for these kinda topics is it?

Also there is a new concept now, "I am a dev and I am ranting about something non dev related so its fine I can do that", which is complete bullshit because that isn't how devRant markets itself. Any new user coming to this platform will think they will see tech related rants but they don't get that so they'd leave as we are seeing now.

Basically what I am saying is, if you want to be offended or triggered, this ain't the platform for that. You disagree with someone's rant? Fine, move to the next one. But don't start freaking out about anyone's opinion. It's useless.

I have been thinking about supporting DevRant for some time now, given that I use it more than 9GAG, imgur, Instagram and Facebook.

But I'm not putting my money into a platform which has created environments like this.

@Sid2006 … and it‘s practically abandoned without an EOL plan.

Yes, and hopefully we can educate those who do and they can correct the behavior. "Dude, take that to reddit or your tin-foil-hat facebook group" should be enough.

Its a small list of folks who can't seem to stop the trolling.

Maybe @dfox can put them in 'devrant jail' for X number of days and/or enact some kind of 3-strikes-you're-out policy.

The mental illness is real and I'd much rather those individuals get actual help than spend their time on devrant.

@PaperTrail I am just enjoying the ride. I used to get worked up, but over time I realized it is what it is. I always felt like this was a place we could actually discuss things that are taboo elsewhere. You go anywhere else and you have mods favoring sides in discussions.

This stuff always seems to ebb and flow here anyway. Someone starts posting shit, people get worked up, the person gets bored, we get normalcy for a short while.

@Alexanderr What sad life do you live where you go back 40 days older rants and start commenting there?

Calling me n-word omg. What will I do now? Internet bully told me to shut the fuck up. I have no moves left now that I have been called n-word.

    Fucking idiot.
