Y'know, I'm an audiophile. I want perfect sound, and that's why I want high quality headphones and audio files. I dislike speakers because the sound changes from room to room quite a lot, while it doesn't with headphones, and that would also be distracting when I'm coding. Anyway, that's not what I'm complaining about.

I really don't get it when I download music that has been given out to download for free by the author or recording label, it sometimes comes as a WAV or FLAC. I have enough space on my phone/SD card anyway so gimme lol. Sometimes, I like a song so much, I buy it but often, I never get a WAV or FLAC or anything similar to that. Only MP3 320kbps, WHICH SIMPLY ISN'T ENOUGH FOR MY AUDIOPHILE NEEDS SINCE I CAN CLEARLY HEAR THE FUCKING FREQUENCY CUTOFFS. AAC 320kbps would sound way better (WITH LESS FUCKING FILESIZE, MIND YOU) and its compatibility is also good enough to distribute it as such, but that's something that, again, only fucking free downloads sometimes use. IT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE! GIVE US PROPER FILES IF WE PAY FOR YOUR GODDAMN MUSIC!

Wow! You have really sensitive ears :)

I used to hear extremely well too, sometimes I even heard small noises before my cat did. Not anymore. My hearing is just slightly better than average. And my vision is still perfect, it's just that everything in my close range, particularly text, gets smaller all the time. I'm getting old :[

@CozyPlanes Shitty quality. I mean, 192kbps AAC is what they store the audio in, why do you want to lose even more quality by converting it to MP3?

(making you shouting to death) yes.

    Another audiophile! 👋🏻

I love good sound too. The worst thing I can think of is bad headphones, like I see a lot of stores selling them cheaply and I hear people say "They're good" without having heard good quality audio files with quality headphones. It makes me sad.

I wish I had the money to just spend $10k on a proper setup.

@simeg or those people saying Beats are good.

@filthyranter I just had a beat salad for lunch. That's one of my favorite salads, along with groove salad.

    @filthyranter Yeahhhhh that's not right.

My friends tell me I have too many headphones. I got a pair from Degauss Labs (in-ear though) that I'm extremely happy with. Would recommend their high-end products for sure.

@simeg It's like people who think that candy bars are chocolate.

@simeg This reminds me of the feeling I had when the first "multimedia" computers arrived in the mid 90s, and people went like "WOW! Look, there's colour graphics! And sound! It plays music and it even speaks!".

Like if that was something new. *cough*...Amiga...*cough*

@simeg You know what suprises me? 2x2W bluetooth speakers for 50€ I got by my father actually sound good, as far as bluetooth speakers can sound good. Only problem is the charging port because that one's gonna break soon for sure.

@filthyranter Give me a link to the speakers. I've yet not bought that anything wireless because every wireless thing I've tried has not lived up to my expectations (looking at the price). I hope someday the technology (or maybe my wallet) has come far enough because it looks so handy to not have to care about a wire.

@simeg I'm afraid that's not possible because I have no idea what these are. Seriously.

@filthyranter Could you post an image then? This made me curious.

@simeg I found something about the speaker, it's an "Odys RAVE"... My father's model was flawed tho and it's not too loud compared to way more expensive speakers. Also it does an annoying notification beep all the time when the battery runs low, like every 30 seconds...
