AndrewzOS247yWow that seems like it could have been easily avoided by just saying hey give me a couple days I need to do more research on using react and mvc or rest workflow. Or ask for help simple as that but he might have been embarrassed but idk many variables to consider.

There's this Yosemite wallpaper I like, and I set it on whatever system I work on, personal or office.
But yes, we can never be sure if that's the case here, or he's lying. I'm with you on this.
Also you say you asked him if he made any progress before the robbery, he said yes, sent you images with old wallpaper. What if those were real, he was telling the truth and those images were already backed up on cloud.
Did you check date stamps, is system date visible on right bottom corner or wherever depending on OS. -
crst567y@GrizzlyMagnum It was a custom one. But i also guess where did he save the code, i don't see any commit on the last days.

darkcode8277yFire him. He's either funding his education on your dime, unreliable or has the worst luck in the world. Possibly all three. Either way, not a good fit for your team. Fire him. Good luck.

I've experienced working with that kind of cunt, we working on a mobile app, i'm working on the app and its working on the backend and API.
I have my parts done but not its
The reasons was sick, it's relative got sick, motorcycle broke, laptop broke so it needs to reinstall OS, got sick again, havent renew internet subscription, etc.
It already ate the downpayment money.
Project delayed for a month, and cancelled with some heat in my ears and face
The real reason is its working on another project 20 times more money than we're working on.
But guess what, that big project also didnt deliver but it and it's friends already bought a new laptop, phone, building a house, getting married.
The big project owner now hunts them.
The last time i heard news about it, it's home got robbed, all gone, and it didnt get it's salary for 3 months.
So fucked up, but somehow i felt satisfied hearing that.
I use 'it' instead of 'he/his', because it's no longer a human being in my eyes -
Damn, just damn. Not sure what to comment but since you're a new one on here, welcomes veeery muchies!

So we are a development company, we have some remote coders.
This one is very good coding BUT
Sometimes he disappears and then comes back with an history, the other day he said his grandpa was about to die of cancer so he had to go to see him.
Three days ago, he had to finish a landing page manager, in React. just a form and unzip (nodejs server side) the files... It was not so difficult.
He said was going to finish later that day.
Then he disappeared, for 3 days!
And i got a message from him on facebook saying he got robbed and he was going to rent a laptop to continue working.
Then i asked if he had any progress on the code before that happened. and he started sending
me screenshots of the code , but in one screenshot i was able to see a part of the desktop background. Checked on the history of files @ Slack and that was his background lol.
Please guys , don't do these kind of things.
If he had told me that he needed to study or something i would have understood him
Now i feel i cant trust him anymore.
