After working two 85 hour weeks and staying until 6 in the morning before customer demo, the project manager decides to invite the team for dinner and drinks after work, as if my family doesn't miss having me home for dinner, and I haven't spent enough time with my colleagues!!

    Congrats on getting the demo done! You could go for a short period or explain you need to be with your family. If they are nice they will respect that.

    @Jumpshot44 It's naive thinking that I could stay for just a short time. It takes 30 minutes just to get to the place, 30 minutes to get food, 30 minutes to get home, and by that time my child is sleeping without having seen her dad yet another day.
