That's quite generic.
A successful business should first focus on their product, and a way to distribute the product that's not been done before, or where is enough space for competition, that will be far more efficient in customer retention.
Then, it has to focus on lowering costs dramatically.
That's a successful business. As for customers - there are ads for that. -

devios157707yYeah you'd think that wouldn't ya? After years in the industry though I can tell ya the only thing that matters is the bottom line.
You think businesses are in it to help their customers? Nah, that's just where the money is. Of course they want to make it look like they care.
…but they don't.
The best creations in our sector will always come from those who are passionate to do it themselves because they give a shit about it. Sadly, good software and money do not go hand in hand. Capitalism and software are like oil and water.
