Why on earth does a router need 8 GB RAM? Are you running your own data centre?

Probably a cyborg "gaming" router that looks more like a mechanical spider.

Lol our router runs on whooping 400mb, is freebsd based, includes a fullblown state full firewall + vpn server and still has 210mb free

@Kimmax oh, we connected a mini lcd to it to report basic status indicators

In 3 years even lawn mowers are going to have 3 GB RAM. Please stop RAMing our world...

And my router is with admin name and pass which I don’t know because the internet provider company installed it and when I started running simple php/asp.net servers I needed port forwarding. Three fucking hours talking to idiots, at the end they called and connected me with a guy who was enjoying a leave from work and he only could understand what port forwarding is and do it.

My work PC is only 4 GB RAM and it runs Android Studio most of the time side by side with ton of Mozilla tabs. Why God why? And lags like fuck

@arvindprakash It felt like the right way to do xD I wanted to solve this problem for the next 5 years

@theuser Nah, it has a real case, has a ROG motherboard (which blinks), and runs PFSense.

Do you mean this Asus ROG Gaming Router with 10 antennas?
  • 0
@vortexman100 Yeah, that's the one. I guess yours doesn't have like 20 antennas and is not geared towards naive teen gamers who want less lag.
  • 0
@theuser Nope :D But i actually got less lag.
