watzon46247y@azuredivay idk. I don’t know that I’d recommend fedora for linux first timers. Not that it’s super difficult, but Ubuntu is damn user friendly and there is a plethora of tutorials online

Am I the only one who finds windows only good for pure .net development
While Linux is best for everything else
And of course macOS for pure Apple development -
watzon46247y@gitpush no that’s pretty much how they’re set up. Windows is literally only good for developing for windows (and lets be honest, the bloated mess that Visual Studio is is it really even good for that). I do have to say I love developing for just about everything on my Hackintosh though.

@dev0urer exactly though I never was able to make macOS run without driver issues on my laptop, screen kext was a complete mess on my end, I'm running it on a VM though

watzon46247y@gitpush it was definitely a pain in the ass and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone that’s not a total masochist

@dev0urer true but I have an iMac and would love it on my laptop for outside work but not paying 2500+VAT for MacBook pro 😒
-
watzon46247y@gitpush that’s where it saves you. I think I spent $200 USD on my laptop and it’s awesome. It’s got an i7, 12GB RAM, and a 1TB HDD which I’m planning on swapping out for a SSD when I can afford it

TV4ELP657yI always do web dev stuff on my linux laptop but i now started to just have the stuff hosted there and use my normal windows pc with Atom + SFTP Plugin to just remotly develop stuff.
Since it will be hosted on linux anyway why not test it on linux ;) Also if i need to i know what to install and what to configure if i need to deploy it. -
@dev0urer same thing, got an I7 3rd gen with 8GB and 1TB HDD, later on I paid 300$ and upgraded to 16GB RAN and SSD, never regret what I did
