Curiously, the font ligatures are on by default on the Win10 Notepad.

FiraCode mono isn't a good development font in my opinion. I don't like it. For me the best would be the Adobe Source Code Pro. Easiest to read. Unfortunately the ligatures-enabled font based on Adobe Source Code Pro isn't as full-featured as FiraCode is. But then again, I find no problem with fonts with no ligatures, as it might be confusing sometimes whether you have 2 symbols or 1. That's because I once spent a whole work day trying to figure out why something wasn't working, when apparently I was using a different " sign, that looked exactly the same. Since then, I want the font that I'm using to differentiate very well between symbols, with no ambiguity.

I use Fira Code as well, and really like it, except when I try to tell the difference between <= and =< . The look exactly the same.
