Well to be fair Windows usually ran more stable than many Linux distros in my experience.

Windows 10 turned that completely around though and fucked up something in my PC so even Windows 7 has problems now.

I call bullshit!
I have debian server, working non stop, with uptime of 3years just because it need to change kernel from time to time.
Windows crashes at least once per month with good weather.
