I know how you feel, I mainly work with laravel (php framework) and I absolutely love it, aside from the fact that every file I edit from the core I have to convert the spaces to tabs in order to not go insane.

There should be a integrated tool/flag into git to pull in projects with spaces or tabs.

Example : "git clone git@myAwesomeProject.git -sane" (tabs)
