@codingfreedom @codingfreedom Obviously, this is close to the answer.
But in reality where the business owners lack, for various reasons where some are valid and others are not, the knowledge or wit that the economic impact is potentially huge (hundreds of thousands of dollars) even for a short period of time if the ”system” is not running at nominal values. This can’t be seen directly but will impact cost in the long run (months).
This is obviously a design flaw where this huge impact was not taken into consideration in the risk analysis when the ”system” was conjured up from thin air (a.k.a. a result from a business support function process that was faaar away from handling risks, i.e. software engineering).
It’s been quite a ride since 1995 but we still suck. I’m watching two huge global and one large local project from within and all are project management cluster-… And as developers we can only do so much when the wheels have been put in motion.
