What qualifies you to call yourself "senior" in your perspective field?

The amount of stupidity Ive had to endure.

Mostly it's defined by the amount of years you have practice in it. Commonly after 7 to 8 years you are called senior. (Perspective is from germany, don't know how it is elsewhere)

It's different company to company.

You can call yourself senior if your manager and HR dept give you that title.
