    It isn't for most of the population. If you find out early, you are pretty damn lucky.

    too many people don't have this epiphany until they retire.

    but hey - figuring out what you're doing isn't your best choice is a good thing. it opens up the way to something different that you're passionate about :)

    This field may not be for everyone, but you can get decent enough to which you can do other things. Can't developer but know enough code and sys admin tasks? go sys admin or devops.

    Can't code but know your way around things like python or bash and are pretty decent at networking? try pentesting or security or heck just plain networking. Programming and development is just one part of the whole I.T spectrum, but it is not the end all be all. You can do other things and still remain inside of a lucrative and nice I.T career. Ain't no shame in not being a dev man.
