@Lensflare i'd use it if i had an apple watch. I was surprised myself how much i like watchRant client and how handy it is.

And as u already have joyRant, your app can just sync the login details to a watch app. For me, i might need to make the user login with a tiny keyboard xD

running with offline music on it (i used to carry my phone), controling music playback of my phone, developing apps, and storing notes (very usefull i wont say why :D).

Also notifications. I just take quick peek when the screen turns on instead of having my phone ringing, so i can decide if its important

@Lensflare yes. But it also allows voice and swiping and has auto complete so its almost finee.

And for the login page i used one form that changes from being for the username to being for the password after you tap submit once 😂.

Now only needs to come ranting and also voting. Perhabs a long tap or sth will see

Do you know where i can get the devrant icons for the notifications?

I did analyze the apk but kinda got lost and didnt find them in the res folder. And ive looked in joyrant aswell but couldnt find them there either :/

Also how annoying that devRant uses a Map for the username and user ids in the notifications. It took a while to learn how to deMap that in java haha. Well fine they may save a few kb for not sending one username twice.

But there have also been some other weird stuff in the api.. well for once using an empty String if image is not available.. (so i had to learn how to get an object that was either String or customClass...). Then also... why do the image urls contain "\" ? I mean i just replace them but.. whyyy :D

Which icons do you mean?
In JoyRant, all the static icons are system icons, you can’t reuse them in Android.

I mean the icons like the bell in the bottom bar or the speech bubble in the individual notifications.
Some of the icons are actually text. That’s the ++ and the @ icon.

// Update for people who may stumble at watchRant and want to install it

Just released a small update to github and the playstore which fixed the login issue that was also present in skyRant and sometimes randomly happened.
I know that many things are missing in the app, but i wont add or really change much from this point, as first of all the experience imo is already smooth for a quick rant reading, ranting, replying and a fun watch experience.
I will continue to support the app though and fix feature errors or issues people run in, aswell as adding more themes so that the themes are equal between skyRant and watchRant. Issues on Github will also be solved.
Anyhow this is just an update to the current state of watchRant!

Update time! Latest version got an upgraded watchface. It now removes the background for amoled ambient always on mode to save on battery!

This release is only on GitHub right now but the apk can be easily sideloaded via firebase.

(The PlayStore release will be delayed because Google recently made some design policy changes which clash with watchRants current navigation. I may consider to change these soon, when i have the time.)
