Grumm17902yI would go with the max of the range. Why even propose a range for salary ? are there really some who want to pick the lower end ?
It is like saying 'you can earn $5 or $10 for this job, the choice is yours' 🤡 -
@Grumm From the viewpoint of the company the obvious expectation is that candidates with low experience would be at the bottom of the salary range. While the top range is reserved for high experience (or something exceptional)
If you're looking for a lead dev - you'd take some rando at the low range or Wozniak at the top range.
I'm not sure why the company publically shows the range - as it might be out of the hands of the candidate - maybe they are forced to by law. -

Without words they say you suck, you get payed less.
Maybe that is some big difference in the working culture. But still strange to me :D -
All salary discussion is moot anyway. I did the skill assessment last night, and while I did pretty good for a skill I haven’t used in 4 years (and was not too deep into to begin with), it’s not going to cut the mustard.
Recruiter: “What are your salary expectations?”
(The job listing indicates a salary range that STARTS at 2x my current total comp…)
Me, as nonchalant as possible: “The listed range is sufficient.”
