Partly. You can also just have genuine reasons for not having updated (sometimes didn't do it when I still ran windows because it broke my sounds drivers or something) and this is partly remote exploitation which means no user interaction is required!

@linuxxx But several patches exist and I believe all they do is disable smb v1.
