Forside14598yI'm using PHP since 8 years or so and after I recently took a look into Python, I learned about Django. Gave it a try, but it was somewhat too complex to make me really dig into it, as I also had other stuff to do. Then, some days ago, I came across Flask, which is really easy to use. Not sure though, if it's suitable for whole websites. Belief it's mainly for web services.

Forside14598yJust remembered, Flask includes this whole MVC implementation, so of course it's for whole websites...

Ruby on Rails is also a fun and easy platform to build web apps. I also use php and gave ruby a try a while back. Been a fun experience. If you're looking to try new things give ruby a go -
@ryncops
Rails is nice. I use it at work.
Use Nodejs too for work and private projects.
Used Python for years.
Python and Rails are awesome -
Forside14598yThere are some languages where I just never knew, why I should learn them. These include Python and Ruby. By now I know, Python makes many things very easy to accomplish and generally simplifies a lot of usual processes. But still I tend to do my little applications in C, just cause I'm used to it and I like the flexibility it gives me. Maybe I'm some sort of masochist. Regarding Ruby, I simply don't know the use case for it. I can solve any problem using the languages I know. For web development I have PHP which runs well enough for anything I needed it for. I guess Facebook and Google probably don't use it though.
