Agile and scrum are the best model for development.

Except agile is just a set of priorities and scrum depends too much on customer buy-in. In the long run, the best model for development is a supportive culture, well managed communication channels, and people who can (and are willing to) make decisions when you need them.

The best model is whatever works for that project, you, and your customer. Every model has strengths and weaknesses, it's all a matter of finding the right tool for the job. The minute you start declare something a universal best, you become a worse developer.

The best model for development is the one with a proper work environment, with no bosses that have no idea of the fieldand for once customers or projects that have some specs!

Both have pros and cons. But where you learnt is the key.
