*sigh*
Come sit here, my friend.
Now think: What good do patents do?
They had a good intention once - to protect ones copyright, so one can make a living from their invention.
Nowadays... It's a company who makes the money. Not to make a living for their invention, but to gain profit.
Which is already bad - as it means that whoever holds the patent, makes the price. Be it medicine, seeds, ... The company makes the price.
But what's even worse. When a company utilizes the money made from patents to create a monopoly.
It means that they not only determine the price, but also that no one else can sell it, as everyone else was either bought or driven into ruin.
Now. Do you want a Google and an Apple wallet or do you want to become Apple the monopoly leader and thus have no choice but to buy Apple products?
I'd rather welcome the Google wallet. Or even better - no Google wallet, but rather a product of a company that values data -/ privacy security.
Never. Blame copies. Be happy they exist.
