Mbrp3028yIn csi there is a chapter where they literally say "I'm goimg to build a visual basic interface to track the hacker ip"

lotd79228ybest thing about those scenes.. only devs and techies will understand why u laugh.. especially in the cinema.. :D

lewdogg9958yI love it when hacking is a virtual world where you literally walk down a hallway and choose the parts you want to hack.
Or how every show or movie seems to have it's own custom OS that can do all things that you know are impossible. -
NCIS is a good one for this. There was one episode where they were trying to get someone to tell them the IP address of a hacker somewhere in some foreign land. Eventually they succeed. It starts 192.168 ...
I understand why they do it, but it's very jarring! -
buddy1481988yHave you seen Mr.Robot, It has fairly authentic hacking/debugging, and a decent plot/story.
That being said the show it's self has quite a dark theme to it and probably isn't for everyone... -
Mbrp3028yYeah, I know mr robot. I follow hacking news and they got most of the facts and references right. Also, let's not forget the movie swordfish or that other movie where Harrison Ford is a security expert that, at some point, hacks an atm machine with an ipod!

Arumenn6038yI especially like how much their use their GPUs to the limit just for a cool progress bar in 3D... while also calculating a CERN's supercomputer worth of data in seconds.
When tv series/movies have "coding scenes" and they do impossible things within seconds. (I'm watching last season of the 100... My god...)
