Ah my favorite type of agile, pomp agile.

You go through all the motions and ceremonies and it benefits nobody but the leaders egos.

I fought this by creating routine meetings on my calendar that went into detail about the projects I was working on. They would span at least an hour and sometimes would be a full day.

When your boss complains you aren't meeting for some pomp, ask them if their meeting is more important than making progress on x project. Even better if they were dumb enough to do it via email.

Eventually they will hang themselves or get the message they are destroying productivity.
