what is with this android wifi toggle.

sometimes it disconnects and as I'm watching for it to connect, nothing happens.

And just as I press toggle off, it shows connecting.

Frrrr.

This is a huge pain in the ass for me too. I have a ton of internal infrastructure that I can't access when my internet access goes down because Android automatically disables the wifi without removing the icon, so it looks like it's on(but it's not).

I fixed it by going to: Settings > Connections > WiFi > ... > Advanced

Disable "switch to mobile data". It will remain connected to WiFi regardless of Internet activity. Just be aware, you will need to manually toggle WiFi off if you need mobile internet.

Also, this setting usually activates again after OS updates.
