Am I allowed to ask tech questions? Because I can't get my fucking Acer to dual boot a Linux distribution. Tried mint and lxle. Both require I go into legacy mode to boot them from USB, so I can't install them that way... Any ideas?

Does your BIOS not let you use legacy boot with USB device?

@spongessuck I can, but when I want to boot windows I would have to go in and change it again. Then back to legacy if I wanted Linux.

As far as I know, you have to enable legacy boot to basically boot from the USB to install Linux. Once installed you can switch to UEFI and continue normal and you will see grub menu to choose your OS.

Booting your USB key has nothing to do with booting your future OS... Don't mix the two...

And then there is some utilities that make UEFI bootable USB keys allowing you to Boot in Uefi mode.

When using rufus it makes both uefi and legacy version, try going to boot menu and selecting the uefi boot version of usb

Thanks all, I will try Rufus. My problem was that it seemed to ignore the Linux installed from the live USB when I went back to eufi for Windows. I appreciate the help and discussion :)

Same goes with mine when I used rufus(MSI GL62). But when I tried Fedora Media Writer, it works fine with UEFI
