@dell-user took me drugs to get there Tho. IDK if that's normal, but I'll never be the same. I see so many possibilities when someone else only sees one.

Florens4438y@nnmrts Didn't even think about that. The shared host I'm using right now probably doesn't support it either. I'm planning on switching to a VPS though so that'll be a fun thing to experiment with. I currently use a 10 year old PC as server for things my shared hosting can't do but it's quite limited as well (it's 32-bit, has limited resources and for some reason it likes to slow down my network A LOT).

nnmrts4758y@Florens good luck!
I think node.js is probably awesome, but never tried it out because you actually have to buy a new server or a deployment service plan to try it out properly...or am I wrong here?
I mean, PHP is supported by every cheap shared host server provider. But support for nodejs is too expensive for me... -
kingspp1428yPHP is just getting old. Try python flask and later if you are keen on front end u can try react.

Mvzes3468yPeople have always been bashing PHP, and Node is this new hip thing where you can use `the language of web!` to write server side code. Node is somewhat of a long lasting fad, but PHP is still the most used server side language by far.

@Divisionbyzero about no specific version, I guess
People also say that C is old (latest standard came out 2011), that C++ is old (latest standard released earlier this year), that FORTRAN is old (2008) or that COBOL is old (2014)
I think he just said that, because of its actual age, not because of what it's capable to do
After many hours of work I just finished my first real project in PHP. Now everywhere I look I see people bashing on PHP and praising Node.
