    not just modern programming. all of technological advancement since first banging two rocks together to make fire is an arms race of "intellect against idiocy".

    Maybe stop catering for idiots, start making things easier to do? I'm looking at Windows 10 and the Desktop 'contains' another Desktop, with the same icon. Doesn't have the same contents though. And sometimes you can have four desktops, of two different types. And we have more need than ever to know which copy of a file we are working on, but the file paths are ever more hidden. Wouldn't like to be learning computing now, whereas it was a doddle on my first Mac...
