just need to say this: It's GNU/Linux folks. I know, I know, it's not as easy to say when you want to talk about it, but every once in a while give the damn GNU a little credit. Without it we might not have Linux as we know it, so show some love from time to time, it's not that hard to say GNU/Linux.

    No. Fuck that. If I'm specifically using their tools like gcc and shit, I'll talk about them, otherwise I'm talking about Linux

    @iam13islucky every time you are on gnu/linux you *are* using their tools even if indirectly. Your system wouldn't run otherwise. But suit yourself.

    @y2k0z I'm aware of that, but I simply don't care

    Im guessing you're talking about coreutils. That can be replaced where its not gnu anymore, just about anything besides the linux kernel can be replaced and still be linux so i just call it linux

    And who are GNU? Why not stating the full names of the 3 people who worked there the most hours? This never ends...

    @matanl No you don't have to give the names of each developer, as you don't do that (and nobody expects you to) with so many other things that have been developed by more than one person (including the Linux kernel btw).

    I was very surprised by your reply. Most of the other replies were at least honest of the type "I don't care" so even if I disagree with them I can respect their honesty. Your argument on the other hand was silly, and that's putting it politely.

    @y2k0z Linux kernel mentions the name of the inventor, Linus Torvalds. That's exactly why I was mentioning that.

    @matanl I give up mate

    @Artemix I don't know where you got that from. I merely said that I understand the inconvenience in using this name consistently but give them credit from time to time since they did play a significant role in the development of the OS.

    @y2k0z "It's GNU/Linux folks."

    @jckimble oh come on, really?? there's a whole paragraph where I express my thoughts but you choose to focus on the 'title' just because it suits your interpretation? so sad. I guess we all like to hang on to specific words and miss the point if we don't like the point being made.

    @y2k0z i don't care either way. Im just saying where someone could say you said that.
