I used virtual box, for some reason on retina the ttext was a bit pixelated. Not sure if thats an issue with virtual box or linux.

These days I've moved my dev/prod env onto docker.

Disclaimer: I heavily use neovim/zsh, so I dont care what os I'm using. Though in terms of UI, I hate unity, they just had to ruin it so it could run on tablet/touch screen, well thanks for fucking up all your usual users for the potentional tablet users. And yes I know I can use other window managers and that's what I do, but you have ruined the default downloaded ubuntu ...

Of course you can do that. Maybe the battery won't last as long as with OS X because Macs are optimized for that system.

I don't get the point of trading a Unix system where people get payed to keep it up to date against some Open Source Unix (which is fine too, no question) but if that's the way you wanna go: just do it

@Grimmdev if you want slower performing hardware an you paid for, then do that

I don't really understand comments here. I moved from ubuntu to mac. And after first week of getting things installed and perfect I see no performance lag or lack of support for common problems. My mac works like a beast plus experience is really awesome. I remember I had to stop Phoenix server in order to get node server running. Everything was time consuming and worthless. I had to spend time on things that shouldn't really matter when I was on ubuntu.
My old laptop had 4 gb of ram now I have 8GB. Not saying mac solved all problems on its own because it's awesome and ubuntu is not(ram matters) but it's good. Very good indeed. Instead of saying this is better than that please tell why you prefer one over other and let's not talk about the price. I know it's costly and I accept that point @Linux @dontbeevil @DeveloperACE

@Sainathl price is a valid argument, they're not much different but price ratio causes division by zero

Well appleware is a mistake in the first place, but Linux can be a first step to redemption
