@itch96 dude dont fret or feel sad... old machibes that still work are good machines! My first machine was an IBM ps2 286... Yes a 286, it was the party year 1999 A.D. ...
Hell even today i have my oldest machine running that is alreadtmy 18 years old, a hp xw1000 series.
Well... Today i have a more modern workstation to enjoy :) -
athlon173228y@NeatNerdPrime I'm not saying it will not work. I'm saying it will not go well with average work today

@athlon well that'd also true, however... They would be perfectly capable to do the tasks , only a lot slower, and with lots of swapping.

sirjofri5198yIsn't it funny? We do the same things our 'parents' did. But we 'need' better pcs to do the same stuff.
For example: the best typesetting software is (la)tex. A few months ago I read an old article about a guy running tex on a 'modern pc with 1MHz!'. It took 'only' half an hour to compile that document...
Dad: What do you think about this laptop?
*looking at specs... Raising eyes. Intel i3 first gen., 2 GB RAM*
Me: Nice calculator
