SHA-25614369yDo you think they care about their users ? They also changed their Charging Port a few times and now removed the Headphone jack which made using existing cabled headphones clunk with the adapter...do you think they care if you lose your updates ? tytho22969yI haven't used time machine in years... screwed me over one too many times. Been using ARQ with S3, and it's been great and cheap. tytho22969yI haven't used time machine in years... screwed me over one too many times. Been using ARQ with S3, and it's been great and cheap.

Apple also made its PDF library unusable (!)...

Apple keeps the doctors away, Just so insanity can stay....

(First time I heard that Apple does mit handle PDFs well and even shreds them thought it would be a hoax... I mean... PDF?!)

@tytho yes, i trialled arq a while back (couple of years i think). I tried recovering a backup, but it failed, no idea why. It put me off and i ditched it. I use my S3 for archive and irregular back up. I wonder if its time to give it another go. Have you tried to recover a backup?

I have just learned that apfs is NOT part if the 10.12.4 release, only IOS and TV and Watch. It is slated for release with 10.13. Relax, for now.

Apple just changed their file system to apfs across the board, but no recent documentation on the release. It automaticalky changes from hfs+ when you install the macos 10.12.4 update. In early docs it says that time machine is not supported, but surely they cant kill everyones short term backups?
