What's the oldest thing you own and still use?

Probably my swiss army knife I got when I was 16.

Still one of the sharpest knifes I have outside of some kitchen knifes.

I ride a bike that's older than me

my phone Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini (k750i). been using it since 2011. had to do some tweaks like installing custom ROM that treats the SD card as inernal storage & so on.Thus, it runs Android 7 now instead of android 4.0.4 & the phone still runs buttery smooth ^_^ better than so many new "budget" phones

@Xoka what you said about battery is physically impossible.

My vinyl player, which is from the early 90s, springs to mind. Could be something else, as well, cause I like acquiring second hand stuff and I don’t know the age of all of it..

@prodigy214 I wanted to say same, but resisted. Aye, a man of culture...

My brain is getting pretty old

My desk. It's older than myself.

I'm currently reading the first print of a book co-authored by a friend's great-grandfather on mathematical logic. The man heard Russell live.

Probably some vintage model trains from the 60s.

My house, by an order of magnitude. Nothing else can stand up to my level of wear and tear more than a couple of years

I have a mechanical Certina watch from 1966 and use it every day to read the current spacetime.

My laptop. Me and my brother got it on 2017(?) when my uncle gave it to us. It goes with Win7, but after the EOL I switched to Linux. Still use it to this day and pretty good for my need.

The age of the laptop is nearly as old as me.

@PonySlaystation how do you read space? 🤔🤔🤔
  • 1
@dootlurk you sound like a walking disaster
  • 1
@PonySlaystation I also want to know how to read spacetime
  • 3
    @electrineer I prefer 'catastrophe'
  • 3
@electrineer also bold of you to assume I can walk successfully. Constantly being asked if I had a nice trip

@NoOneCares My laptop is a top-of-the-line gamer laptop from 2014, with super advanced hardware such as an Intel i7 and 8 whole gigabytes of RAM (initially 4 but I added some).

@Voxera ah buttery, what a sexey word. But anyways, anyone claiming his ancient phone runs smooth is a person just used to 5 fps

@SirGerstraint You just gotta measure the temporal displacement in the aether or ether (I forget).

@Xoka with k750i I find this, probably not what you meant. https://fonearena.com/sony-ericsson...

Might either be an axe or my flat belt driven table saw, it's from '46 IIRC

As far as computer tech goes, my '86 ibm model m keyboard is still pretty good.

    Also I have a 2005 printer.
