I prefer to work without music/videos or the like, but I don't mind background noise or the sort(like chatter, cars, etc')
-
Usually quiet. With my ANC headset on, not playing anything - just cancelling all the noise.
If I'm feeling more laxed - I hit Play in this playlist: https://music.youtube.com/watch/... -
I work really well with music whose lyrics I don't understand (my recent favourite is German rock) and I am reasonably efficient with English music because I can ignore the lyrics. I get nothing done with music in my mother tongue though.

i think too much quiet can be unsettling, but too much noise is a nuisance, so i try to find some balance. it also changes day to day. when I'm tired i like having some music on to get some energy.

Sometimes I need quiet, other times I want music. It has to be instrumental though. I find lyrics distracting. Usually progressive house or some other EDM subgenre.
-
@anux it's mental. I'm jumping from liking music to liking noise to liking nothing, and the cycle keeps going.
-
Personally though… sometimes this gets me going: https://youtu.be/pais41IW5dk

I go for rap and trap half the time, and the other, solo violin…
I’m unsure what is better for my productivity. -
JsonBoa29723ylisten to podcasts, often news and Ted Talks. Weirdly I think it's calming to have someone talking about some other problems in my head. Makes me remember the world is large.
Can't stand the silence.
