I would have turned this right back around on HR and asked them why THEY were assuming I was assuming anything about the Nigerian lad and what that says about *them*.
Would probably be out of a job afterwards, and probably for the better. -
Me to HR: Well my American culture tells me to get to know my coworkers and treat everyone like they are part of the team. Because they are. It also tells me to look out for my coworkers. Or maybe that is just my Idaho culture. Betcha didn't know I was native American either did you?

ajinxs5113ySorry to say this but HR are the worst people I have came across. They do not know anything about law or tech. They assume things.....I think. Not sure what do they learn in school when majoring in HR....plus the titles they give themselves on their LinkedIn profiles are like...wtf

@ajinxs I’ve been thinking of leaving tech for a while. My alma mater is offering an online BA in Labor Studies. I thought “huh. Interesting. This is slightly up one of my alleys” as someone with an interest in labor rights.
Curriculum was 100% built for “Corporate HR” as the job placement outcome. You could smell the W-2’s and I-9 forms through the monitor.
