I just realized that out of the eleven 2.4 GHz WiFi networks in my vicinity, seven operate on Channel 1, two on Ch.6 and mine is the only one on Ch.13.

I am also the only one with 5Ghz WiFi.

I'm on channel 7, 5GHz and the only wifi in 500m :0

@DeveloperACE basically, wifi operates using different channel. Each channel has a dedicated frequency band given to it. Wifi works the best if no interference with other signals occurs. So if you have 11 Hotspots eithin your reach, all operating on channel 1, the will interfere each other for a good amount and your connection will get worse/slower. If you now choose to operate your WiFi on another channel that is not populated, it will have a more stable and faster connection backups there isn't any signals it could interfere with directly. That's why 5Ghz is a dream when you live within a metropolis or big city. There aren't that many 5Ghz networks out there, so you have a good chance to be the only one operating within your reach thus making the connection more stable.

@SirWindfield das liegt meistens daran dass in groß Städten nur FTTC ausgebaut wird :0 (ich weiß das weil arbeiten bei Telekom und so 😂)

@SteffTek nervt mega... Hab hier maximal 1.7 MB download speed auf der Leitung. Und das ist such dir schnellste Anbindung die ich kriege. 4 Straßen weiter gibt es aber glasfaser, kumpel lädt da um einiges schneller runter :D. Was ist FTTC?

@SirWindfield Glasfaser bist zum MFG (die großen langen Grauen Kästen) und danach gehts mit Kupfer in die Häuser

@SirWindfield in Frankfurt wo ich arbeite werden auch nur Geschäfts Kunden an Glasfaser angebunden
