My boss won’t answer me unless I wrote him a good morning and asked how he is feeling.
-
drego3074y@petergriffin oh wow! Courtesy is nice but sometimes there are emergencies.. in which case I'd say good morning and then briefly explain the issue
I wouldn't send just a "Hi" to trick someone into replying because that's all these messages are.. the idea that if I reply to their hi, then I must be available to sort their (usually) trivial issue and jumping the ticket queue -
sariel79544y@petergriffin sounds like a good reason to say, "I'm thinking about leaving for another position"
-
sariel79544yI stopped responding to them unless we're friends.
Don't waste my time, tell me what the fuck you want.
I was tempted to send them an email reply back that just said, "hi". That'd be to passive aggressive though -
You should appreciate these messages!
I know they suck but it might be people's attempt at checking if you're busy.
The other alternative would be that you got direct messages like "We've got a problem with X" and it sounds like it's urgent.
If you get a "good morning" first you know it's not super urgent
