rayanon13608yI have never played Minecraft. What is this "programming the client" and "server wars" that you speak of? Please enlighten me!
-
@rayanon you can mod the Minecraft Game client (the thing the normal user (you) is using). With some self written Exploits it's possible to go on a multiplayer server and crash clients, drop their FPS and so on.
-
rayanon13608y@SteffTek Hmm. Why would you do that? For fun? Is it legal? Is it part of the gameplay? I'm confused. 🤔
-
Eariel19088y@rayanon, some people just want to watch the world burn. And as they wouldn't do it in real life, they just ruin a game for everybody else.
-
@rayanon mostly for fun, it's legal (at least in Germany) and not part of the Gameplay. I really want to see the world burn. That's my confession
-
Reminds me of IRC server exploits, fun times, hearing channel ops discussing what went wrong that night, sitting in a table right next to mine 😀
-
@andros705 it's not a ddos, it's using ingame features to get things that servers don't like

I don't know what you guys think but I freaking love programming my own Minecraft client. It sounds childish but I love to see server owners rage when they see their Servers dying because of my exploits. It's a good feeling.
But I got 3 DOS attacks afterwards so there is a high risk to make lifetime enemy's.
Let us all post our dark side of knowledge and the shit we have done to amuse ourselves!
