Avoid Lenovo laptops at all costs.

Our fleet of Lenovo laptops fault so often for such simple manufacturing/design defects that I have to wonder how Lenovo make any profit considering the amount of warranty claims we make.

I agree fully except when it comes to ThinkPad. I've had Lenovos personally, and they've always ducked. However, we have ThinkPads at work, and they rock.

@ScriptCoded we've got 4 different generations of ThinkPads and I have to disagree. Each generation has had something different wrong with it.

One's memory modules would all die near the same age.
Another would randomly have their SSDs die, and another's camera module would constantly disconnect because the camera ribbon is too short, and isn't secured with a clip to the MOBO.

The X series has actually been really realiable but

@Duckfell You're probably using them at a grander scale. We've probably bought a 50/60 or so in total.

    Avoid laptops at all costs.

I have a mini-ITX form factor PC for work.

Unlike a laptop, it doesn't run out of battery charge.

Unlike a laptop, it never overheats.

Unlike a laptop, I was able to cram a 10gbit wired network connection and 64GB of RAM in there, and still pay less in total.

Unlike a laptop, I can choose the peripherals I like.

    "But mobility"

Fuck mobility. There's only one place I can be productive, and it's my soundproofed home office.

If I'm going to the office, it's for meetings, and I bring only my phone. If I'm outside, fuck work, I'm there to enjoy the sun and some icecream.

I CAN RELATE...... Once I do a project for the BE MESH chipset (Qualcomm) with the given programmer plugged in in Lenovo T420 the chipset blow up .

I think thinkpads are quite good for a cheap laptop. Stuff breaks, but it's usually fast to repair.
