Today i saw someone complaining that you have to edit a config file on ubuntu to change the behaviour of the laptop when you close the lid, which in my opinion is simple enough.

But what triggered me was another argument saying that how it would be if cars will require a mechanics degree to drive them.

Well maybe then there won't be so many fucking idiots on the road blocking the traffic in almost every fucking city bigger than a peanut plantation.

I swear, people believe they deserve to use the best things without a single clue about how they work.

I don't know if I fully agree. There are other OSes better suited if you want that type of experience. Even other Linux distros. Some people need the simplicity. The argument that you need to know how things work to use them doesn't hold because that would discriminate a huge part of the world.

@ScriptCoded have to agree with that. Products are made to simplify complicated things.

I don't need to know the inner workings of facebook, cars, locks, infrastructure, trains, televisions to use them right?

People should have at least some teoretical knowledge about things around them (even more the ones that they use everyday) work.

You don't have be able to calculate the efficiency of a diesel engine, but you should at least understand some basic things like why gasoline and diesel do not mix.

Forcing people to know some basic stuff that actually affects them directly opens their mind to ask more advanced questions about the world around them and things that might have an indirect effect on them. Like climate change and over exploatation of non renewable resources.

I get that is not comfortable, but a too comfortable world breeds laziness and inflexibility.

And yes, i agree that a file change is not ideal, at least not for a more UX oriented distro such as Ubuntu, but i'm simply frustrated with how much people like to accept black boxes to remain black boxes for them.

There is a lot of coins scattered around for Mario to collect and special bricks marked with a question mark, which may reveal more coins or a special item when Mario hits them.
