Anyone from Sweden? I found an engineer position I want to apply for, but was curious about things like quality of life and such.

Sweden is fast becoming what France is. Refugees rioting and burning cars in the bad parts. Otherwise it is one of the best countries to live and work in.

As a swede living in a stockholm suburb i can honestly say that life here is pretty sweet, (stockholm kinda sucks in the winter though, its not cold enough for people who like snow and definitely not warm enough for people who hate the cold).

Taxes are pretty high (although they are much lower now than they were 30 years ago) but we get a lot for our taxes so its not a big issue, quality of life is good.

Despite the recent riots our crime rate has been fairly stable for decades so i wouldn't worry about that but there are definitely parts of sweden where things are pretty bad. (Not as bad as some cities in the US (i.e Chicago has a 20 times higher murder rate than swedens most dangerous city, Malmö, and 60 times that of Stockholm)

Up here in the northern parts of sweden (above umeå) it's really great! The only bad place in sweden would be Göteborg. (Edit: oh, and Malmö too.)

@xios no not really. There are like 2 cities where there are some problems but the rest of the country is pretty great.

@Dacexi France has also couple of cities with problems.

As I said. In my opinion Sweden is the best place to live in all aspects.

Living in Sweden but from Spain. This place is so quiet that sometimes is boring. This is heaven if I compare it with my own country.

@LenaAlcie Nordic people are in general quite introverted compared to Mediterranean. It's a question of preference I think.

@xios *looks to the blonde husband* naah they are not that cold 😂 Like I said, i prefer this 1000 times more than my own country.

@xios it's more that they open up more and more the more you get to know them.
