Graduated last week and will start working next week as a Java/Java EE Developer . What do you guys think about the tech?

I think that Java is a great choice for software programming. Why? It's not some bullshit that needs Windows 3.1 and forces you to use Internet Explorer 12. Java runs everywhere, Windows, Linux, Mac OS, *BSD, Solaris, even as extension to z/OS(afaik). You can even make them look the same on every platform(by using JavaFX, for example). If you *really* know how to use it, it's also really fast! There are tons of APIs and librarys you can use. The list goes on and on.
