Had to write a recursive MySQL query today and, oh lordy! It's not intuitive at all.

It works now so I'm happy, but I spend more time on it than I'm willing to admit...

Recursion is hard already, but tearing apart recursion in SQL is migraine.

No "true" debugging and the longer the SQL statements become... The harder it is to keep track of which part of the CTE expression you're currently editing.

But if it works it's really golden xD

Recursion is the one and only thing Oracle actually excels at
