It sounds so normal compared to "My friend who is a doctor doesn't know how to treat people" or a Pilot, or any other profession.

codePain2094yHis probably a support engineer you dont need programing skills if u are looking after systems
-
10Dev28994yI know at least a couple engineers who've attended uni cs classes, and understand all theory, but can't actually write code
-
Are we talking about a dev though? A computer engineer could mean anything from a support guy to a dev to a CPU engineer. Contrary to what some people seem to think, it doesn't mean you know "everything there is to possibly know about computers"

Crismon2364yHe should fix that asap. He doesnt need to be a software dev. But he should get the idea and limitations. The best QAs, POs and PMs are the ones who know at least a bit about good software under the hood.

nine2764y@TeachMeCode so in our curriculum(which sucks obviously) for Computer Engineering, 80% courses are programming based. And after 4 years of Bachelor’s if someone’s not having basic knowledge about that, I feel kinda furious
-
mundo0349794y@nine that also depends on the Cv no?
Here there is a difference between a Computer Engineer, Information Technologies and Software developer, each of those has its own curriculum, and a lot of people confused them.
