I usually come on here to bitch and whine but this time I want to sing the praises of WebStorm / The intellij family of software.

Never change. continue to be amazing and absolute chock full of customisable features. Thank you.

    A bit pricey. I like stuff in >= 0 and <= 0 price range.

    @Cyanide looking at the feature set, not really.

    Hate to state it like this, but a true OSS competitor with the same feature set doesn't exist.

    @IntrusionCM Well, yeah. That’s the case for many fields. Proprietary tends to be better than OSS for obvious reasons.

    One of the few subscriptions I’m happy to pay. My usage of WebStorm and PyCharm has dropped off as VS Code has taken over, but I still use DataGrip and Rider a lot.

    It's not the IntelliJ family, it's the JetBrains family....

    Also, I've been somewhat unhappy with how CLion handles macros, but besides that I'm a huge a fan of their software

    All in all I have to agree - JetBrains fucking rocks. It’s a big bite to start the annual toolbox subscription, but by year three when you’ve gotten a lot out of them, it’s totally worth it.
