Every time I appy for an IT job I can't stop to think about the time I accidentally wrote my root password to a discord group chat instead of the terminal window next to it.

Today I accidentally muted the whole group call by focusing the wrong window. Mistakes like this happen. Change your root password and learn from the mistake

If you had a password "password" or "fuck123", they would think you are taking a piss.

I bet you had something smarter.

I once ran a big upgrade to a commercial CRM system late on a Friday night, and when the upgrade process gave me a critical error, I thought I knew how to fix it and pushed the update out anyway. Well, I should have stopped and opened a ticket with the vendor - I shut down hundreds of salespeople, worldwide, for a week. During that week I worked non-stop with the vendor, and got the issue resolved. In the end, all anyone remembered was that we had a serious issue and I saw it through. We all fuck up. The key is to be able to fix it and move on.

Did you know that if you write your root password, internet facing IP address, and SSH port on devRant they get automatically replaced with eggplant and peach emojis? Here’s mine:

Nope, it made it a nicholas cage -cat instead. I think it's a firewall issue
