As far as I know Python 2 will lose official support in a few years (with emphasis on the 'official' part) and if you start I'd recommend to learn the more modern one. There is a reason they revamped the whole thing^^
Edit: It gets discontinued.

vish21468yIt's 2017, it is now safe to go with python 3. Even I started using python 3 since a month.
