what cloud to use? on small projects, any suggestions?

    I agree don't use cloud services, this is one of the reason big companies feel they can do what they want with our data and not worry about it as they have it all in there cloud, but depends on what your project is all about/does, its hard to give a suggestion with what you asked so far, if its a cloud for lets say your JS files then there is loads of good CDN's out there but your not clear on what you want and what its for.

    I've used Google AppEngine for many of my small hobby projects. Its quick and easy and most important, doesn't cost a penny for the smallest instance.

    For larger customer related stuff we usually use Amazon EC2 and some mediumsized linux instance. If you go with a "pure" server version (no GUI or other bloat), those 4Gb RAM will last you long!
