I hate applying for a job online. For some reason it just doesn't work out for me. I have a lot of humor but today my interviewer asked me if i was insecure doing that. I'm like "No, my whole family is like this".

But that's beside the point. Every company thinks they're so special. Well, some do have special benefits. But after a few times turned down my ego starts to break.

I'm so done with this new type of interviewing

Interviews in this field are fucked up and most companies suck.

    @rantsauce

"hahaha, what about this corner case of adding an array of a single bool to a generator with manual memory allocation?" - every other interview

@msdsk Did not even came that far. Lately interviews are three stages. The one you're talking about is the third or even a complete assignment.

I dunno how come, devs keep bringing this up but I have a totally different exp. The vacancies come in droves so I haven't had to apply in like 5 years and usually there's little to no coding tests in the interviews. Is it the fact that it's the EU? Are consulting jobs more low-bar in general?

Dev interviews suck. You get judged on whether you totally match their requirements, though this isn’t always the case I’ll admit.

Recruiter: ok even though I’m impressed with your prior contributions and your github you don’t have the 2 years of professional C# we’re looking for.

    Next interview:
Dumbass interviewee: Dude i like totally have that experience. Man C# is da shiznit dawg. React? That my middle name brothuh. PHP? Gimme a P! H! P!

The dumbass gets hired into a high paying senior role and is let go after just a few months

    "Are you insecure?"

"Mind your fucking business bitch, my personal shit is my own. "

"Put you down as a no, then"

Listen up, our company IS very special.

We do management software but we do it in a TOTALLY innovative way: *proceeds to explain the most common type of management software*
So, why do you want to join us?

@d-fanelli the hardest part of being honest is to realize this world doesn't want honest people.
And yet we don't give up on it... School and narrative really 🦆ucks you up for good.
