When big project starts and I hear:

Because we are in a hurry...

That will come back to bite them.

Been there. Lost a bunch of weeks in the process debugging strange bugs and was afraid to refactor existing code. Never again. All you can do is warn them that they will pay the imaginary time savings in magnitudes later in the long run and look for another job.
