Maths tends to have that effect.

i spent the whole last week tracing down a source of mysterious and complex bugs of unreliability of a system... just to, after 6 days, trace it down to a single url in a single config file, which was set up for a different (previous dev's, i assume) localhost address than where the endpoint was on my machine...
